Lynch Wines
We proudly announce two exquisite wines from our 2003 vintage, crafted
by winemaker Gary Galleron:
Early in the 2003 growing season, Napa Valley weather patterns were
erratic with high temperatures in early spring changing to heavy rain by
late spring. Though modest in yield, the quality of the fruit from our
2003 harvest at Lynch Knoll vineyards was outstanding ? intense, complex
and well structured. Under Gary?s watchful eye and masterful hand, the
wines from our 2003 vintage are deep in color, elegant in structure,
rich and delicious.
2003 LYNCH Cabernet Sauvignon - 320 cases produced
Dark red hues and strong cedar-oak aromas with appealing, spicy
black-cherry undertones. A pure cassis core on the palate, gaining added
complexity from spicy, slightly dusty, but well-integrated oak. This
wine shows fine structure, highlighting blackberries and licorice on the
mid-palate and a huge concentration of grilled herbs on the velvety rich
palate. A rich spicy cedar aftertaste that lingers, offering a
pleasantly surprising note of bitter chocolate on the medium, slightly
warm finish.

2003 LYNCH Syrah - 54 cases produced
Well fruited, attractive dark plum and licorice aromas, aggressively
floating into a stand-at-attention-and salute palate presence. Plenty of
the soft, supple palate feel and silky tannins. A bold, cool spiciness
adds grip in the mouth and a racy zest to the fruit. Initially, medium
weight in the mouth, with leather driven palate density, then tumbling
towards a savory, moderately long finish, this wine is a superb example
of harmonious acidity. Full and ripe with a crispness to the red-black
fruit, itself lifted by the acids. Silky, seamless and very accessible now.
